On Saturday, September 29, 2018, join UW Colleges for another soon-to-be hit musical in its Pre-Broadway run, TOOTSIE, based on the 1982 film. We have secured seats at Chicago’s Cadillac Palace before it heads to the Great White Way. Tootsie is directed by Scott Ellis (She Loves Me, Elephant Man) and features a new score by David Yazbek (The Band's Visit and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), a book by Robert Horn, and choreography by Denis Jones. Tootsie is about a struggling actor who disguises himself as a woman to secure a role on a soap opera, which leads to romantic and hysterical complications. The film featured Dustin Hoffman. Broadway actor Santino Fontana — the voice of Prince Hans in the animated movie Frozen and recent star in Act One at Lincoln Center will take on the Hoffman role.
The $269 trip package includes premium seats, lunch at Macy’s Walnut Room, and Coach USA (a.k.a. our University on Wheels).

UW Colleges is proud to feature artist Tony Drehfal on a daytrip to Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum, and to Still Bend, a Frank Lloyd Wright home in Two Rivers. Tony is internationally recognized as one of the world’s foremost wood engravers. He presently serves on the Wood Engraver's Network leadership team, which is now in the process of partnering with the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum to create a wood engraving exhibit, classroom, and library space within their Two Rivers museum. At the museum, you will receive a guided tour of the world’s largest premier wood type collection. A tour of Still Bend will round out your experience in Two Rivers. The Bernard Schwartz House is also known as Still Bend or Life Magazine's "Dream House,” since F. L. Wright originally designed the house for the magazine in 1938. The Schwartz House is one of the few Wright homes that allows guests to spend the night. Although you won’t be spending the night there, you will have an opportunity to have lunch in the Still Bend.
