Student Art Contest Winners Announced

17th Annual Event Awarded $1,000 in Scholarships

UW-Sheboygan's Fine Arts Gallery was full of activity on Friday, May 11, when scholarships totaling $1,000 and top honors were awarded to area high school students. The 17th annual art competition included colorful entries in drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, illustration, sculpture and mixed media.

Funded by UW-Sheboygan Foundation, three scholarships were awarded to high school seniors who plan to attend UW Sheboygan this fall. Scholarship winners (each receiving $333) include:  Madelyn Clark, Sheboygan North High School; Tou Yang Vue, Sheboygan North High School and Kaitlin Wieberdink, Cedar Grove High School.  Top place award winners for each grade level included:

The student artwork will be on display through May 28. Admission is free, with hours of 9am-9pm Monday-Thursday and Friday 9am-6pm. The gallery is located in the Fine Arts building at the UW-Sheboygan campus, One University Drive, Sheboygan.  UW-Sheboygan offers freshman and sophomore level college courses in over 250 majors.
