German Choir, CHORISMA to perform

Fourteen member concert performs on Friday, Oct. 27
By UW-Sheboygan

ChorismaThe German a capella choir, CHORISMA, will perform in UW-Sheboygan’s University Theatre on Friday, October 27 at 7pm.  The choir hails from the city of Neuruppin, Germany and the state of Brandenburg.  Together since 2007, the fourteen-member singing group began under the direction of Dr. Peter Gibeau (UW Washington County) who was in Germany on sabbatical at the time. They have been performing ever since. The program will include songs in German and in English of both the Classical genre and local popular songs. Chorisma surely will educate, entertain, and enliven the German spirit within each of us.  Join us for this one night only special event!

This performance is possible, in part, thanks to the Sheboygan hospitality of these community members who are hosting performers during their Sheboygan stay: Rebecca Bartels; Sherri and Karl Byrand; Hannelore Geyer; Sam Watson and David Hein; Joe Milicia; Gerry Schwoerer; and Martin Ulrich.

Tickets for Chorisma are $10 at the door, with the box office opening at 6pm. Admission is free for college students with I.D. For more information about this concert or the music program at UW-Sheboygan, contact Dr. Christy Talbott, or visit the website,
