
Student Employment at UW-Sheboygan
A variety of student employment opportunities exist on the UW-Sheboygan campus, including both Federal Work Study appointments and regular positions. Below is a list of possible departments and areas that may have student positions available in the coming academic year. (To determine if you are ELIGIBLE for Federal Work Study, please see Mary Balde, Financial Aid Specialist, in the Student Services Office.)

Business Services
Assist the Business Services Office in cashiering, staffing Business Services Office front counter, answer client questions, etc. Must be able to multi-task and have excellent customer service skills. Supervisor: Kelly Reif, Business Services Office Manager, 459-6613.
Campus Information Center
Staff Upper Lobby Information Center desk, direct guests to appropriate rooms/locations on campus, complete other tasks as assigned. Must have excellent customer service skills. Supervisor: Kelly Reif, Business Services Office Manager, 459-6613.
Student Services
Staff front desk in Student Services office, answer student questions regarding application/enrollment and registration processes, complete other duties as assigned. Supervisor: Pam Fitzer, Interim Assistant Campus Dean for Student Services, 459-6683.
University Relations
Work with University Relations Director to complete marketing and PR-related activities, including writing, editing, designing, campus postings, giving tours, performing administrative tasks, etc. Supervisor: Carrie Hoppe, Director of University Relations, 459-6612.
University Theatre
Work with Theatre Artistic Director to coordinate ticket sales, staff box office, provide assistance during scheduled shows and other tasks as assigned. Also, work with theatre productions as part of the crew. Supervisor: Franklin Himes, University Theatre Artistic Director, 459-4417.
UW-Sheboygan Bookstore
Work with Bookstore manager to staff Bookstore, order and organize textbooks and other store merchandise, etc. Supervisor: Sue Kampman, UW-S Bookstore Manager, 459-6614.
Fine Arts Department
Work with Fine Arts Gallery Director and Art Department to prepare, hang and clean artwork for Gallery exhibits and other tasks as assigned. Supervisor: Tom Uebelherr, Associate Professor of Art, 459-6649.
Academic Success Center
Serve as a student tutor in a variety of subjects and work with fellow students in assigned subject areas. Supervisor: Pam Fitzer, Interim Assistant Campus Dean for Student Services, 459-6683.
Commons Café
Assist Food Services Manager with food sales, preparation, , etc. in the Commons. Supervisor: Michele VanderPloeg, Food Services Manager, 459-6637.
Cyber Café in the Loft Coffee House
Work in the campus coffee house and cyber café mainly afternoon and early evening hours. Serve coffee, beverages and light snacks. Supervisor: Michele VanderPloeg, Food Services Manager, 459-6637.
Coffee Cart
Serve coffee and light snacks to get students through the day at the Coffee Cart; typically open in the mornings and later afternoons in the Acuity Building Lobby. Supervisor: Michele VanderPloeg, Food Services Manager, 459-6637.
Continuing Education
Assist the UW-S Continuing Education Office in mailings, correspondence, answering phones, and other duties as assigned. Supervisor: Valerie Graczyk, Continuing Education Director, 459-6661.
University Library
Assist Library staff with daily library support work such as processing mail and periodicals, shelving books, data entry, library collection organization and other duties as assigned. Supervisor: Jeff Ellair, University Library Director, 459-6679.
Athletic Department
Work with Athletics Director to staff home games for volleyball, basketball, soccer and tennis. Assistant Coaching positions for all teams also may be available. Supervisor: Missy Skurzewski, Athletics Director, 459-51
All students receiving Federal Work Study and regular student employment positions on the University of Wisconsin campus may be subject to a criminal background check. All student workers also must review and complete the Student Employment Handbook and attend a scheduled Student Employment Orientation session or schedule a private appointment with the Assistant Campus Dean for Administrative Services to review all personnel policies.
