How to Find Articles & Databases For a good starting point for most any topic, try WilsonWeb (OmniFile or Readers' Guide databases) or EbscoHost (Academic Search Elite database).
Other frequently-used databases include: America: History & Life - Britannica Online - Chronicle of Higher Education - CQ Researcher - ERIC - JSTOR - LexisNexis Academic -Opposing Viewpoints - Philosopher's Index - Project Muse - ProQuest - PsycARTICLES - PsycINFO.
For additional newspaper articles, try ProQuest Newsstand (U.S. and international news sources) or ProQuest's Wisconsin Newsstand. For the latest issues of local or U.S. newspapers, check-out our listing of newspaper websites.
For a comprehensive listing of all available databases arranged by title or subject, see the UW Colleges Electronic Resources and Online Databases page.
To search multiple databases at once, use MetaLib. (For a 9-minute video demonstrating some of the features of MetaLib, view this MetaLib tutorial.)
To see which periodical titles the library subscribes to in electronic or print format, consult our Periodical Lists.
If you need an article which we do not have available online or in print, you can use ILLiad interlibrary loan to request delivery of the article from elsewhere (allow 1-7 business days). |
