University Library – selected by the Wisconsin Library Association as the 2009 Library of the Year – is located on the first floor of the beautiful ACUITY Technology Center at the campus front (West) entrance. Holdings include over 40,000 book volumes, 80 current periodical titles, and various audiovisual resources. Licensed online databases also provide many electronic books and online reference sources and a large number of full-text online journals. Staff provide efficient interlibrary loan services that enable student, faculty and staff access to materials held at other libraries throughout the UW System and elsewhere. The Library contains six conference rooms for group study, 13 personal computers for online research and general use, a Research Instruction computer lab with 36 additional PCs, and a networked laser printer and color printer. Free wireless Internet access is also available, for use with patrons' own laptop computers or with laptop computers that can be checked-out by students from the library front desk.
UW-Sheboygan is part of the 13-campus University of Wisconsin Colleges. UW-Sheboygan librarians are part of the UW Colleges Library Council, a governance body which develops institution-wide library plans and policies, such as the coordinated strategic directions and collection development policy.
The Library is open for use by all Sheboygan County residents, which includes full borrowing privileges.
