UWM Library has a Distance Education Internet

available to you. On this page is a link to the “Off-Campus Access to Databases”
web page at:
http://www.uwm.edu/Libraries/ris/ezproxy.html.
If you have
not visited UMW to obtain a student ID card, you need to contact the Library’s
Circulation Department at 1-877-893-8583, and ask for your ID number. The
student ID number listed on your tuition bills, and on your letter of acceptance
to UWM, is missing a number at the end. Without your complete ID number, you
will not be able to connect to UWM Library’s online databases from off-campus.

You may use all the resources available at the
UWS Library, including checking out books and magazines/journals, and using
online databases, such as periodical (article) indexes. However, most of these
online indexes are not available to you from off-campus via the UWS Library web
page. As a UW Milwaukee student, you have access to online databases and other
library services through the UW Milwaukee Library (see the “Off-Campus Access…”
section above.)

To log on to UWS campus computers use the following
formula*:
First 4 letters of last name + first initial +month and year of birth (4
digits)
(For example—Jane Brown, born Feb. 1961= username “browj0261’)
Passwords are created using the same formula as for UWS students: last 4 digits
of your social security number +!! +last two digits of the year of your birth.
*Before you can logon to UWS computers: e-mail the UW Milwaukee College Connection Coordinator and provide him/her with: your name, birth date and the last four digits of your social security number.
