Description

Women playing Hamlet rehearsal

UW-Sheboygan's spring theatrical production, Women Playing Hamlet, will be presented April 12-15, 2017 at 7:30pm in University Theatre (located in Fine Arts Building) on the UW-Sheboygan campus.

A new comedy by William Missouri Downs, the play will be directed by UW-Sheboygan's Theatre & Communications Professor, Dr. Thomas Campbell.

The Story: Jessica is a 29-year old actress recently cast as Hamlet. While some may be excited, Jessica must face a borderline abusive acting coach, a barrage of Starbucks baristas telling her she's "not right" for the part, archaic gender norms, oh and uh...Patrick Stewart is stalking her, too.

"...uses an all-woman cast to explore questions of courage and conscience...managing to spoof Shakespeare and pay homage to him in a two-hour show that moves like lightning."  --The Patriot News Harrisburg

Tickets will be available at the box office - which opens one hour prior to performance.
