Foundation Golf Outing
The UW-Sheboygan Foundation Scholarship Fundraising Golf Outing is held each year in early May at the prestigious Whistling Straits on the Irish Course. All proceeds from the event, which utilizes a Best Ball format among foursomes, is used to support new and existing scholarships for UW-Sheboygan students. The use of the Calloway handicap in scoring this event puts the coveted event trophy in reach of ANY golf foursome!
Area businesses are encouraged to support this event by sponsoring foursomes and/or securing Hole Sponsorships to support the scholarship campaign and promote their business.
The event concludes with a brat fry post-event reception and awards ceremony at The Haven Bar and Grill, which features a robust Silent Auction.
The 2017 event will be held on May 7, 2017, at Whistling Straits. Registration begins at noon with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
There are plenty of sponsorship opportunities for this event. For a registration form, print this PDF brochure or contact Allyson Olivier.

Jack Snyder Memorial Fund
As a result of the generosity of donors from all over the state and the Sheboygan community, the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan Foundation, Inc., has established the Jack Snyder Memorial Fund to honor the late UW-Sheboygan Athletics Director, Coach and Professor John “Jack” Snyder.
Snyder, 68, died unexpectedly on December 26, 2009, of an apparent heart attack in his sleep. Snyder was best known as the man who molded the UW-Sheboygan men’s basketball team into a fierce competitor in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference in the 1970s and 1980s. Snyder joined UW-Sheboygan as the campus’ first Director of Athletics in 1969 and served in that capacity until his retirement in 2001. During his tenure as a Professor of Physical Education on the campus and the Athletics Director, Snyder coached numerous varsity sports teams, including men’s basketball, cross country, golf and tennis in addition to his teaching and administrative duties.
Over the years, Snyder was an avid supporter of Foundation fundraisers, including the annual scholarship fundraiser, Chicken & All That Jazz. Each year, Snyder volunteered extensively at the event coordinating grilling operations, working side-by-side with his former student-athletes. He was an avid supporter of the campus and its students and consistently called his days at UW-Sheboygan a “labor of love.”
All funds raised from the Jack Snyder Court Dedication in November 2011 and all donations in Jack's name afterwards will be added to the Jack Snyder Memorial Fund held by the UW-S Foundation and used to support UW-Sheboygan Athletics.
Anyone wishing to contribute to the UW-Sheboygan Foundation Jack Snyder Memorial Fund can send donations to the UW-Sheboygan Foundation, One University Drive, Sheboygan, WI 53081. All checks should be made payable to the UW-Sheboygan Foundation. Donors are also asked to note “Jack Snyder Memorial” in the check memo section.
A plaque will be hung in the Gym lobby recognizing donors to the Jack Snyder Fund, including “Coach’s Corner” ($5,000 and above), “All Stars” ($1,000-$5,000) and “First Team” ($500 to $1,000).
