Student Art Contest Winners Announced!

16th Annual Competition Awarded $3,000 in Scholarships

UW-Sheboygan's Fine Arts Gallery was full of activity on Friday, March 10, when scholarships totaling $3,000, along with top honors were awarded to area high school students. The 16th annual art competition included colorful entries in drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, illustration, sculpture and mixed media. Funded by UW-Sheboygan Foundation, the scholarships are awarded to high school seniors who plan to attend UW Sheboygan this fall. Jamie Prinsen, a senior at Cedar Grove-Belgium High School, received the Dean’s Choice award for his oil on panel titled Natural Phenomenon.  Art Professor, Tom Uebelherr presented Prinsen with a $1,200 scholarship, while three other seniors received a $600 scholarship.

SCCS group - artshow 17Admission to see the students' unique and colorful artwork is free. Gallery hours are 9am-9pm Monday-Thursday and Friday 9am-6pm. The gallery is located in the Fine Arts building at the UW-Sheboygan campus, One University Drive, Sheboygan.  The art will be on display through March 27, 2017.
