By UW-Sheboygan

The Sheboygan Community is invited to visit the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan Fine Arts Gallery for its latest art exhibition, "Keep It Simple II" by local artist Keary Kautzer. An opening reception has been planned for Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Gallery. The public is invited.

Kautzer's original paintings are mainly in watercolors, depicting landscape and water scenes, many painted en plein air in the style of the American Modernists.  Kautzer's paintings are his visual record of where he has been and what he has seen.

Kautzer's mentor, James Michael always stressed "keep it simple," and that is Kautzer's goal when he begins a painting.
Kautzer is a member of the Wisconsin Watercolor Society, Waters Edge Artists, Transparent Watercolor Society of America and the Sheboygan Visual Artists. You can see more his work online at: www.kearykautzer.com and at Two Fish Gallery, Elkhart Lake.

All artwork will be on display in the gallery through April 25.  The UW-Sheboygan Fine Arts Gallery is open Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and located inside the Fine Arts Building.
