2017 Student Art Competition Announced

16th annual event to award $3,000 in scholarships

The University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan is pleased to announce the 16th Annual Art Competition for High School Students. All area high school students are encouraged to participate, with top entries displayed in the Fine Arts Gallery on the Sheboygan campus. In addition to first, second and third place awards, scholarships totaling $3,000 will be awarded by The UW-Sheboygan Foundation to participating high school seniors who plan to attend UW-Sheboygan (must have applied or been accepted) for the fall 2018 semester.

Acceptable media includes drawing, graphic design, illustration, metalsmithing, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture. No more than two works of art may be submitted per student.  All submissions must include a completed application, which is available on the UW-Sheboygan website, along with complete rules.  The deadline for dropping off artwork and application forms is March 3, 2017.  The opening and awards reception is planned for Friday, March 10 from 5-7pm in the UW-Sheboygan Fine Arts Gallery, located in the Fine Arts building at the UW-Sheboygan campus, One University Drive, Sheboygan. Gallery hours are 9am-9pm Monday-Thursday and Friday 9am-6pm. Admission is free.
