Information for Admitted Students
Congratulations on your admission to UW-Sheboygan! We look forward to learning more about you. This page is dedicated to help you with the next steps of your journey to your first day of class. All admitted students receive an admission letter and registration information form in the mail. If you have not received this information, but have submitted all application materials, please contact the Office of Student Affairs (920)459-6633.
Once admitted, follow this step-by-step guide to get complete the registration process:
Step 1 – Pay the Advance Tuition Deposit (ATD)
Each semester every UW-Sheboygan student deposits a $100 Advance Tuition Deposit (ATD) on their account before registering for classes. This will be applied directly to your tuition bill. The ATD is refundable prior to December 1 or prior to your registration after that date.
***Prior to signing up for Placement Tests, Advising & Registration and Orientation you will need to submit your $100 ATD with the form enclosed with your admittance letter to Business Services (by mail or in person). Checks should be made payable to UW-Sheboygan.
Step 2 – Placement Tests
To ensure you are registered for the appropriate level of math and English, all new freshman need to take the Placement Tests. Transfer students without prior college credit in either area will also be required to take Placement Tests. If you are a non-degree seeking/special student and are planning to register for a course that has a prerequisite of English or math, you will be required to take the Placement Test(s) or show proof of having met the prerequisite (official transcripts must be sent to the Office of Student Affairs).
For more information about Placement Testing at UW-Sheboygan, please visit the Placement Testing page.
Step 3 – Advising & Registration
New freshmen are required to attend an Advising & Registration (A&R) session. During this group session you will learn about the registration process, register for your classes, learn how to access your student accounts, and have your picture taken for your student I.D.
For more information about A&R and to review resources that will help you prepare for the registration process, please visit the A&R page.
Transfer students with more than 12 credits should schedule an individual appointment with an advisor to register for classes. Please call the Office of Student Affairs (920)459-6633 to schedule an individual registration appointment.
For more information about Advising & Registration and to review resources that will help you prepare for your individual appointment, please visit the A&R page.
Non-degree seeking students are not required to meet with an academic advisor prior to registration.
Please note if you have met prerequisites elsewhere for a course you are planning to take at UW-Sheboygan, you must provide official transcripts to the Office of Student Affairs. Manual enrollment by the Office of Student Affairs may be required for courses requiring a prerequisite that you met on another campus.
If you have questions or would like to meet with an academic advisor prior to enrollment, please call the Office of Student Affairs (920)459-6633.
Step 4 – Orientation
New students are required to attend Orientation to kick off their college experience. This is an opportunity to meet some of your classmates, learn about important campus resources and find out about campus life. Your family is welcome to join you for Orientation. Returning adult orientation is available for students who are age 22 and over. Please visit the Orientation page for more information.
