Youth Options


Opportunities for high school students to take classes at UW-Sheboygan:

• Student must be in the top quarter of their high school graduating class.
• No application fee is charged for these programs.
• Required paperwork must be submitted prior to student registration.
• Students will make an appointment to register for classes after receiving a UW-Sheboygan acceptance letter.

1. Youth Options
Wisconsin's Youth Options program allows public high school juniors and seniors who meet certain requirements to take post secondary courses at a UW institution. Course fees and textbooks are paid for by the student’s school district (public schools only). Approved courses count toward high school graduation and college credit.


Required paperwork
Students must submit the following for each semester of attendance:
UW System special student application
• Official High School Transcript
• Letter of Recommendation from Guidance Counselor or Principal
• Approved PI-8700 form (Available from Guidance Counselor)

2. High School Special
Students who do not qualify for the Youth Options program who are interested in enrolling in UW-Sheboygan courses can apply as a High School Special Student. Course fees and textbooks are paid for by the student/parent/guardian.


Required paperwork
UW System application
• Official High School Transcript
• Letter of Recommendation from Guidance Counselor or Principal
• Home School students are required to provide a copy of the PI-1206 form


Special Note: Students pay a $100 Advanced Tuition Deposit prior to registration appointment. Students may also be required to take a UW System Placement Test prior to registration.
