College Credit for High School Students

Opportunities for high school students to take classes at UW-Sheboygan: 

  • No application fee is charged for these programs. 
  • Required paperwork must be submitted prior to student registration.
  • Students will make an appointment to register for classes after receiving a UW-Sheboygan acceptance letter.

Youth Options

Wisconsin's Youth Options program allows public high school juniors and seniors who meet certain requirements to take post secondary courses at higher education institutions. Course fees and textbooks are paid for by the student’s school district (public schools only). Approved courses count toward high school graduation and college credit.

Eligibility Requirements

Students must satisfy one of the following requirements to be elligible to enroll in a course approved by the applicant's school district:

  • Current high school cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher based on a 4.0 scale or
  • Current high school class rank in top quarter of the class or
  • Current high school class rank in second quarter of the class and a minimum ACT of 24 or SAT of 1110

High School Special

Students who do not qualify for the Youth Options  or Course Options programs who are interested in enrolling in UW-Sheboygan courses can apply as a High School Special Student. Tuition, fees and textbooks are paid for by the student/parent/guardian.

Required paperwork

  • UW System special student application 
  • Official High School Transcript
  • Letter of Recommendation from Guidance Counselor or Principal
  • Home School students are required to provide a copy of the PI-1206 form

Special Note: Students may be required to take a UW System Placement Test prior to registration.
