UW-Sheboygan to host 2012 Youth Art Month Northeast exhibit


The Sheboygan area community and the UW-Sheboygan campus is invited to visit the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan Fine Arts Gallery in February for its new art exhibition, “Art Shapes the World.” The exhibit will feature PreK-12 students from Northeast Region of Wisconsin in honor of Youth Art Month.

An opening reception and celebration has been planned for Sunday, February 5 from noon to 3:00 p.m. in the Fine Arts Gallery. Selected works of art will then be sent to the State Capitol in Madison and displayed in the Rotunda from March 17-30.

Youth Art Month is sponsored by the Wisconsin Art Education Association and coordinated by Brian Sommersberger of Random Lake Elementary School.

All artworks will be on display through February 27. The Fine Arts Gallery is open Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and located inside the Fine Arts Building.
