Splash 7.5 watercolor art exhibit opens October 1
Sheboygan-area art lovers are invited to visit the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan’s Fine Arts Gallery for its newest exhibition, Splash 7.5, a diverse exhibition of original watercolors from a variety of local artists and students of James Michael.
The public is invited to attend a special opening reception with the artists and light refreshments on Friday, October 1, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Gallery. The exhibition will run through Friday, October 29.
All the paintings in this exhibition have been done in the six months since the preceding showing of the Splash exhibit, and most were produced in the group’s summer outdoor classes. Michael revels in the growth and developments of these painter friends, and proudly listens to the laudatory comments of returning patrons.
“The truth is, of course, we paint to impress each other and to profit by group critiques; on the other hand, we also cherish praise from the viewing public” Michael said.
All watercolors will be on display in UW-Sheboygan’s Fine Arts Gallery, located inside the Fine Arts Building on the UW-Sheboygan campus. The Fine Arts Gallery is open Monday–Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Most paintings will be available for purchase.
