UW-Sheboygan graduates more than 100 students

The University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan graduated 101 students in the campus’s annual commencement ceremony on Friday, May 20, in the university’s Fine Arts Theatre. More than 50 UW-Sheboygan graduates and five collaborative bachelor’s degree graduates participated in the hour-long ceremony, which featured Dr. Fred Yeo, Dean of the College of Education and Human Services at UW Oshkosh, as the keynote speaker. Two student speakers also addressed the Class of 2011.

UW-Sheboygan graduates from the Fall 2010, Spring 2011 and Summer 2011 terms were honored with associate of arts and sciences degrees by UW-Sheboygan Dean and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Al Hardersen, along with several graduates from UW-Sheboygan’s collaborative degree program in Early Childhood Education with the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

As the night’s keynote speaker, Yeo shared his thoughts on the importance of academics, the commitment to personal excellence and goals – whatever they may be. He shared his own personal story of career exploration from obtaining his undergraduate degree in biology to earning his law degree to eventually becoming a teacher and university administrator at UW Oshkosh.

The evening featured two student speakers, 2011 Graduate of the Year Linda Lee and Valedictorian Allison Haller, both of whom shared their well wishes and words of support and inspiration to their fellow classmates.
