University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan

Continuing Education offers a variety of courses in Fall 2012

Stop reading so slow!

Be honest, how fast can you read? Most of us don’t realize when we read that our pace can affect our comprehension. Would you like to know how you can quickly improve your reading speed by 50-100%? Then register now for the UW-Sheboygan Center for Engagement Stop Reading So Slow course this fall.

In this course, you will use a newly developed, totally natural technique that increases the speed and flexibility of your “reading voice.” Most people have a slow reading voice, which usually goes along with weak comprehension. Slow readers read word by word: a faster reader reads whole phrases (groups of words) in a single glance, which boosts comprehension and recall, and makes reading a lot more fun.

The fast-acting techniques in this course can turn you into a phrase reader with minimal effort. These techniques are so simple that they can be used by young children. This course is appropriate for ages 14 through adult and will be taught by James Protsman, UW-Manitowoc instructor, on Mondays, October 15, 22, and 29 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in Room 3107 of the UW-Sheboygan Main Building. A $35 fee is required for the course.
