Area music educators to perform in concert at UW-Sheboygan
First CHIME concert set for Feb. 7
From pitch to harmonies, our local music educators are the experts on the beauty of music and all it has to offer. Now – for the first time ever – these music educators have come together to share their own talents in a joint performance at the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan.
The CHIME Concert (Concert Hour Involving Music Educators) will be held at 7 p.m. on February 7 in the UW-Sheboygan Fine Arts Theatre on the UW-S campus.
Music educators from UW-Sheboygan, Kohler High School, Marian University and several private piano studios in the Sheboygan area will perform together and showcase their musical talents through solos and small ensembles. The concert is coordinated by UW-Sheboygan Assistant Professor of Music and University Chorus Director Dr. Christy Talbott.
According to Talbott, the concert will provide an opportunity for these local educators to showcase their own musical talents to audiences who may never have seen them on this side of the stage.
“We especially encourage area high school students to come and hear their teachers and directors perform,” Talbott said.
Admission is $5 for all community guests and free to all UW-Sheboygan students with ID.
