UW-Sheboygan to host drive-in movie May 11
Beatles movie “Across the Universe” to be featured
Gather up the lawn chairs, blankets and the popcorn and head to the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan next week for an old-fashioned drive-in movie!
The students of UW-Sheboygan invite the Sheboygan community to help celebrate the end of the semester with a traditional drive-in movie on the UW-Sheboygan campus grounds on Wednesday, May 11 at approximately 8 p.m. (sunset). The students have selected Across the Universe, which is rated PG-13. All admission is free with first-come, first-serve parking. No advance tickets are required.
Across the Universe is a musical romantic drama released in October 2007 that incorporates 34 compositions originally written by members of The Beatles. The film, which stars Evan Rachel Wood, Jim Sturgess, Martin Luther, Eddie Izzard, Salma Hayek, Bono, Dana Fuchs and T.V. Carpio, was nominated for both a Golden Globe and an Academy Award.
The film will be projected along the East wall of the Gymnasium. All guests should enter the campus via University Drive, turn left at the stop sign and enter the East Parking Lot. All cars will be parked in rows in the field next to the Gym as they arrive.
Guests will be welcome to leave their cars and sit on lawn chairs to watch the movie and hear the projected audio, or listen from their car interiors by tuning their radio to a selected station. In case of inclement weather, the movie will be projected on a screen inside the Gym.
